CAMPHOR USES AND INFORMATION
Healing Properties of Camphor Essential Oil:
Camphor Oil of Cinnamomum camphora, is an analgesic, antidepressant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, stimulant and vermifuge . Camphor Oil Sedates nervy types particularly when associated with depression.
Common Uses of Cinnamomum Camphora:
Warms and cools the body where necessary. Camphor Oil is helpful with stiff muscles. It is cooling on the skin and, therefore, reduces inflammatory conditions. In addition, Camphor Oil strengthens and stimulates the body and is a general tonic - helpful to the nervous system. Blends well with basil, cajeput and chamomile. Helpuf when used with a diffuser or vaporizer, but should not be used in massage.
History of Camphor oil:
Traditionally used in smelling salts throughout history, pure camphor oil comes from the wood of camphor trees that have aged beyond 50 years.
Contraindications of Camphor oil:
Camphor is a very powerful oil. Use in small doses, as too much could cause convulsions, and vomiting. Should be avoided in pregnancy, people suffering from epilepsy, asthma and high blood pressure and babies. Undilluted essential oils in their purest state are extremely potent, and should be blended with a carrier oil or other medium prior to use directly on the skin, as the essential oil may cause irritation. Shelf Life - Approximately 2 years.
